How the real Pearson Edexcel GCSE Computer Science (1CP2) papers are set out, how these mocks work, and how to use your results.
The real papers
Pearson Edexcel sets two papers, each worth 75 marks and half the GCSE.
Paper 1, Principles of Computer Science, is a written paper of 1 hour 30 minutes on Topics 1 to 5. Paper 2, Application of Computational Thinking, is a 2 hour onscreen paper: you complete, amend, fix and write Python programs on a computer, ending with longer tasks. These mocks set Paper 2 as code questions that run against tests in the browser.
