The same sound can be written in the treble, alto or bass clef. Go through middle C to find its place on each stave, at the same pitch.

One note, three places

Treble: the second space
Alto: just above the stave
Bass: above three ledger lines

One A, three places. Written in another clef, the pitch is the same; only its place on the stave changes. Middle C is the bridge: a ledger line below the treble stave, the middle line of the alto stave, a ledger line above the bass stave.

Quick check

Where is middle C on the alto stave?
