Reading the rhythm of an extract the way the questions do: the metre, dotted rhythms, quaver movement, rhythms that come back, and syncopation.

Clap it before you answer

Clap it and say the values: crotchet, crotchet, two quavers; minim, crotchet; dotted crotchet, quaver, crotchet; dotted minim

Rhythm questions are about note values, not pitches: clap the part first.

More on this

Clap or tap the part bar by bar, saying each value to yourself (minim, crotchet, quaver), and the answer is usually obvious. Do it for the one part the question names: the right hand, the violin I part, the bass.

The rest of this lesson and its 6 practice questions are in Brainlag Music Theory.
