Notes

Write notes with headings, checklists, tables and images, sorted by subject and easy to search. For lesson notes and revision summaries; they are saved on this device as you type.

Pictures are saved inside the note and count towards its size.

How to take notes

  1. Write on the page and format with the toolbar: headings, bold, lists, checklists, quotes, code and images. Or type / on an empty line for quick formatting.
  2. Everything is formatted as you type: what you see is your note.
  3. Use New note to start another note and the dropdown to switch between them. Each autosaves as you type.
  4. Download your note as Word, PDF or text from the Download menu when you need it outside the browser.

Is this online notepad free?
Yes, with no limit on how many notes you keep.
Where are my notes stored?
Notes are stored in your browser's local storage on this device only. Nothing is uploaded, which means clearing your browser data deletes them, so download important notes as .md files.
What formatting is supported?
Headings, bold, italic, bullet and numbered lists, checklists, quotes, code and pictures. A deliberately small set that covers most study notes.
Do my notes sync between devices?
Yes, if you make a free Brainlag account: notes then sync across your devices. Without an account they stay on this device; use Download .md to move them.
